I arrived at work with a flat tire today because I hit a curb on my way there. I immediately called Jonny Ryder to see if he could help while I was at work. He replaced my flat tire with a donut, took my wheel to get my tire replaced, put it back on my car, put air in all my tires, and when I arrived home for lunch he had gotten me flowers. And never complained, never griped about me hitting the curb, never even slightly hinted that this annoying life-thing had derailed his day. Here it is. Here is the deepest secret that nobody knows… right? Not a day goes by that I don’t feel full of wonder and deep, rooted, desperate thankfulness for him. That silence between closing your eyes for sleep and actually sleeping is full of endless everything. Endless all-of-it. Endless I can barely believe that I am capable of this much love and perhaps more significantly, that I am capable of being this loved. Endless thank yous and thank yous and thank. yous.
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
